The State of the 403(b) Marketplace

What is the state of the 403(b) marketplace? Find out from Ellie A. Lowder, TGPC, TSA Consulting and Training Services, and M. Kristi Cook, JD, TGPC, Attorney, Law Offices of M. Kristi Cook, PC, at Keep Choice Alive: The 2014 NTSA 403(b) Summit in Washington, D.C., June 22-25.

Lowder and Cook will offer information and insight on new developments affecting 403(b)s. But there’s more: They also will address topics chosen from those prompting frequent queries from NTSA members and from new developments. Their presentation will provide information you need in order to be well-informed and in compliance with the law and regulations, including:

  • recent IRS audits and the focus on meaningful opportunity (which is a part of the universal availability requirement);
  • the FINRA notice of enforcement activities in 2014 on the appropriateness of IRA rollovers from employer sponsored plans;
  • clarity on how 501(c)(3) employers can continue to maintain the safe harbor ERISA exemption for their 403(b) plans;
  • in-plan Roth conversions;
  • the 403(b) plan document approval process; and
  • automatic enrollment.

Attendees will have additional opportunity to gain from their knowledge and experience: Lowder and Cook also will be available during the conference for questions and discussion.
