What’s Really Going on in Our Industry?

It’s so interesting to me that almost every year there are changes to the laws and rules that affect our profession. And it’s a relief to me that NTSA is always there as a resource, allowing my company (and yours) to grow and get better at what we do, regardless of those changes.

I still remember when the 457 limit was $7,500 and the 403(b) limit was $9,500, but if you had both, they weren't separate limits. To think today a 403(b) participant, born before 1966, can contribute $24,000 to each, or $48,000. (If only our clients’ income levels had increased to allow them to afford to do so!)

But it’s no different when it comes to outside forces impacting our business. In fact, 2015 is a banner year for big changes. That’s why it’s critical for you to join me at the NTSA 403(b) Summit 2015 in Nashville this June 28-30.

Let me explain.

As our clients age and their employers prefer they move their money out of the plans, IRAs will continue to become a larger part of our business. Do you really know what’s going on with the IRA market and how the DOL’s proposed fiduciary rule changes could completely rework it? Whether you’re fee-based only, work exclusively with insurance products, only represent brokered investments through a B/D — or some combination of the above — your business will be affected.

The question is, how much?

At this year’s Summit, you’ll hear the latest on what the new IRA rules will do and how to comply with them. You’ll also learn what the most successful advisors do to grow their practices while adding efficiencies to their workflow. There’s so much on the agenda.

We’re all very busy in the summer, with work, family and gorgeous weather. Believe me, I know: I live in Minnesota, where we only have 90 days of warmer temperatures all year. But I can assure you just a couple days at this year’s Summit will be totally worth it!

Take a moment to register now. And I look forward to seeing you in Nashville!
