NTSA 2016 Elite Advisor Winners Honored at 403(b) Masters Summit

The nine finalists for the 2016 NTSA Elite Advisor Award, including the six winners, were honored in a ceremony at the NTSA 403(b) Masters Summit on Jan. 22.

The six winners of the 2016 award are:

  • Martin Arinaga of Financial Group, Inc., Mililani, Hawaii
  • Jaclyn Bell of Dearborn & Creggs, Sugar Land, Texas
  • Josh Decker of EFS Advisors, St. Paul, Minn.
  • Thomas Hall of Tax Sheltered Planning, Inc., Fayetteville, N.C.
  • Phillip Kim of AXA Equitable, Scottsdale, Ariz.
  • Adam Pearce of Retirement Professionals, Phoenix, Ariz.

The award is in its third year.

The winners, and the nine finalists, were whittled down from the list of 16 semifinalists. Kristine J. Coffey, who chairs the NTSA Elite Advisor Award committee, said of the 2016 semifinalists that they “are a powerful force of industry excellence.” She noted that collectively, they:

  • promote the needs of 11,090 participants in 403(b), 457 and IRA plans, totaling $767,000,000 in assets under management;
  • work with 234 school districts;
  • exert influence across 37 states; and
  • earned 42 industry designations among themselves, representing the top eight honors in the financial and retirement industry.

“With this combined power, we know that the state and federal governments and agencies respect our joint advocacy voice — just as the local families they serve are grateful for their partnership, and we learn from their leadership,” said Coffey.

Established in 2014, the NTSA Elite Advisor Award recognizes the contributions of advisors who, by their actions and example, have advanced best practice standards in the 403(b) and/or 457 retirement industry — and, in so doing, have improved the ability of American workers to build a successful retirement.
