Senate HELP Committee to Vote March 30 on Acosta as DOL Chief

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee will vote on Alexander Acosta, President Trump’s nominee to serve as Secretary of Labor, on March 30. The committee made the announcement on March 23.

The full committee held a hearing on Acosta’s nomination on March 22. The DOL fiduciary rule was among the topics addressed; Acosta said that he would review the rule in accordance with President Trump’s executive order and in light of its stipulations regarding that examination.

The committee will go into executive session to consider the nomination at 10:00 a.m. on March 30 in 430 Dirksen Senate Office Building. The committee has not yet announced a time for the vote.
